Laradon Celebrates Longtime Supporters and Volunteers

"The torch has been lit, let’s keep it burning. A great work is well on its way. Let’s see that it continues so that in years to come [Laradon] will spread like the branches of a tree and continue to grow and grow and grow! "
Jacob “Mr. Elk of Colorado” Sherman
at the Dedication of the new Laradon School building February 18, 1951.

As we approach Laradon’s 75th Anniversary next year, we want to reflect on the many years the Colorado Elks’ have been changing lives alongside Laradon. Since 1950, the donations, volunteer work, and dedication of the Colorado Elks has made a life-changing and direct impact on the people Laradon serves.

We had the great honor of hosting the Grand Exalted Ruler on our historic campus the past several years, where we had the opportunity to show where our support services occur every day. Our leadership team also has the privilege of meeting so many of you at the quarterly Elks meeting every year.

Laradon’s individuals enjoy services that support them in living a life of inclusion, independence, and success! Our programs provide meaningful opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to contribute to their communities. The Elks support is helping make dreams come true for children and adults with developmental disabilities every single day.
