There are a lot of things Jenny McConville loves— like her cat Buddy, singing any country song, and daydreaming about being a wizard at Hogwarts. But, above all of this is her love for working at Laradon.
“This is my dream job,” Jenny shared between smiles.
Jenny has been living out her dream gig as the Laradon Career Center Administrative Assistant since April 2022. She had been working at Safeway prior as a participant in our Individual Employment Program.
“I began job coaching Jenny when I first started at Laradon. I instantly saw her potential and hard work,” Anthony Miser, the Laradon Career Center Manager, said. “Jenny expressed a desire to find a new job as a receptionist. With COVID-19, it was very difficult to find Jenny reception jobs. When the Laradon Career Center opened and had a need for an administrative assistant, I knew she would be the perfect fit!”
Jenny has hit the ground running in her role. She helps with tracking the number of staff, participants, and visitors who come to the Laradon Career Center every day. She also assists staff with curriculum development and campus projects.
“My favorite thing to do is work on the computer. Computers are my passion. When I’m not at work, I am typing Harry Potter stories on my laptop,” Jenny shared.
While Jenny has only been a part of the Laradon team for a couple of months, she is already making an impact.

“Everyone deserves an opportunity to achieve their aspirations! Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can contribute just as much, if not more to jobs that are often viewed as neurotypical. Jenny brings more than hard work to her role, she brings joy to me and all the staff at the Laradon Career Center,” Anthony shared.
We are beyond excited to have Jenny on the team. Join us in welcoming her!
