About Our Benefits Counseling Program

Laradon launched its Benefits Counseling Program in 2023. The service aims to help Laradon participants and their families understand how employment and life decisions will impact their benefits. Our certified and trained WIP-C staff will assist in developing a personalized plan to help Laradon individuals reach their goals and build self-sufficiency.

Laradon Benefits Counseling Includes

Learning how Social Security Benefits and working will make you more financially independent
Private and secure consultations
Understanding Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
Learning what money management tools and benefit tools are available
Learning how to become more financially independent through work, while keeping your benefits
Medicare and Medicaid assistance
Housing assistance, public benefits assistance (TANF, AND, HUMANA)
Assistance navigating Food stamps, SNAP/PEAK
Student services for individuals transitioning from high school to college (14-24 years)
Learning how to manage Social Security paperwork
Navigating how working, Social Security benefits, SNAP and other benefits work together
Understanding how to save money for the future in protected accounts
Access to employment services
Assistance in addressing overpayments or a break in eligibility

Who Qualifies For Laradon Counseling Services?

Anyone can receive benefits counseling— including individuals with a Supported Living Services Waiver (SLS) or Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver, individuals working with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), or individuals referred from case managers.
