Greetings from the newly established Planned Giving department! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and to thank everyone I have met so far for the warm welcome.
My name is Alexandra Gage and I joined the Laradon Foundation in October to jumpstart our Planned Giving program.
I’ve lived in Colorado for more than 15 years and I’m so excited to have joined such a wonderful group of non-profit professionals here with the Laradon family.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Planned Giving (or Legacy Giving) is the area of fundraising that focuses on major gifts designated to an organization for a future date (made during a donor’s lifetime or at the passing of the donor). These gifts could come to Laradon in the form of bequests or appreciated assets, or they could be donations that provide direct financial benefits to the donor during their lives in the form of tax deductions or even fixed payments. Planned gifts are incredibly important to Laraodn, as they support our mission for generations to come.
A big part of my job is donor relations, which means that I get to speak with our current and prospective donors about all of the goings-on at Laradon, and all of the incredible things our programs manage to accomplish. One of my favorite parts of the job so far has been learning how to give a tour of the Laradon campus—it’s such fun to be able to escort people who are new to Laradon around and introduce them to our incredible organization!
I’m also excited to work with more of you to establish your own “Laradon Legacy”. Has it been a while since you’ve been to campus and you’d like to visit and see more of our programs? Are you interested in the idea of making a gift to Laradon now with no impact on your day-to-day cash flow? Look me up! There are so many options that we can explore, and I look forward to meeting more of you to have those conversations. Cheers to a great 2024 ahead!
